Silver Spoon @ Publika

Celebrated friend's 21st birthday here at Silver Spoon in Publika, Solaris Dutamas.
It's a bar/restaurant so don't expect it to be quiet. And I find the restaurant rather hot! Maybe because I got the corner seat, kinda stuffy.
But, otherwise, quite pretty set-up for a dinner.

My Linguine Alfredo! Cream based pasta w ham and mushroom topped w poached egg.
Might look like another plate of Carbonara to you BUT omg this is goooood!!!
It's the right degree of creaminess and yumminess! Would totally go back just for this :3
This is by far the best creamy pasta!
(RM 26)

Nommmmsssssss~

Birthday boy's Barramundi Fillet (RM 33)
Super small portion if you ask me! /.\

For sharing : Cheesy Nachos
with Mango salad and Avocado dipping~ (RM 15)
Everyone couldn't stop munching. Not bad! For the portion and the size as compared to TwentyOne's though their dipping sauce was bolognese sauce. But this wasn't too bad either!

A typical chicken lasagna (RM 23)

If you're wondering why is this pizza all burnt. It's actually NOT.
It's a bamboo charcoal base seafood pizza. That's why the base is BLACK
They use thousand island instead of tomato paste. And, surprisingly, it tasted quite yumms!
(RM 29)

All kinds of seafood toppings :3

And, lastly, Tomyam Seafood Linguine (RM 28)
Sounds weird? Yea, maybe. BUT it tasted great!
A little sourish, spicy, and creamy! Very appetizing!
There was like prawns, squid, fish fillet, mussel and clams in it!
Friend of mine ordered this but I really liked it.

Not so highlight of the night was their plain water...
First of all, we had to ask like a thousand times for water to be served!
And, for each of this mini glasses, they charged RM 0.80!!! -.-
I mean most restaurants of this standard would serve for free. Or at least charged per person and let it be refillable. BUT NO. They charge per glass and it's not refillable!!!
No comprehendo /.\

I did mention birthday right! So, Happy Birthday muscle man!

Den Den Bistro @ Oasis, Ara Damansara

Love the environment. It can be scorching hot during noon but otherwise, it'd be perfect to have you lunch by the mini fountains.

So we decided to try something new.
Thus, we gave the recently opened Den Den Bistro a try.

View at Oasis, Ara Damansara :

Den Den from the outside :

Simple interior design :

They charge RM 5 for green tea omg!!!
We didn't know at first! Should have refilled a couple more times /.\

He ordered Hamburger Steak (RM 32)
This was a Large. Yes, they have sizes for you to choose.

It is actually beefy hamburger with Japanese brown sauce.
Texture was just right, wasn't too chewy neither too mushy.
But you should really finish it while it's hot because otherwise, you kinda get 'jelatt' with the thick brown sauce.

It may look small but it's super filling!
I recommend you order small if you aren't a starving potato!
Okay, I don't know why I said potato.

Their meals are served w salad and soup.
But this soup was super salty. /.\
Don't understand restaurants with super salty food. How can you not taste your food before putting it on the menu.

And . . . TADAAA! This is my Goodnight Rila Adult Plate (RM 28)
They have Kid's Meal too (RM18) with only 1 Rilakuma.
At first, I was like RM 28 for 2 baby Rilakuma only ah? Sure not enough one.
But, it was too much. Hahaha greedy lah. Order Adult version. Couldn't finish it.

Served with mashed potato, french fries and a piece of fried chicken.

Under the egg blanket : Tomato based fried rice w mushroom and onions.
Friend of mine tried this too, but he said he couldn't accept the taste. O.O
It wasn't the tastiest rice lah, but I thought it was okay! With the brown sauce and all. I kinda enjoyed it.

Goodnight Rilaaaas. You are all safely in my tummy now. NGIEK.

And, DUHH of course I need to take photo with my Rilakuma rice! :3

And, before we end this post...
Cannot not take photo right. So pretty. *I mean the place* Lol

Shakespeare @ SS15

Shakespeare Boulangerie & Patiserrie - Located strategically near Taylors and Inti University in Subang SS15. Cosy and quiet environment makes it popular among students. They serve pastries, main courses as well as desserts.

Photos taken kinda late during the night, otherwise it'd normally be filled w people with their laptops, sipping on a cuppa.

Omnomnomnoms!

Morning! *Another day during brunch*

My definition of brunch ;)
Turkey ham croissant w Egg on Toast wrapped in Ham.
Price range : RM 1.00 - RM 4.80

Pick your pastries and let the kitchen heat them up!
They look small but one itself is rather filling. I kinda like the ham wrapped egg thingy. It's like eating a 3-in-1 combination of a proper breakfast.

His Japanese curry seafood rice! Tasted way better than I expected!
A little on the sweet side but yummms! Not to thick to make you 'jelak' - it's just right :)
But the portion was a little small. Certainly does not fill up a dude. :p

So... We ordered 2 more pastries! HAHA
On the left : Kouignamann (Normal pastry w layers but I LOVED IT)
On the right : Curry Donut :o (it was alright)

On a different day for dinner :

Seafood Puttanesca (RM 12.50)
Very appetizing! I'm normally not a fan of pasta with vegetables but this was different! Everything blended so well together. Had prawns, squid and fish fillets :)

He had curry rice again! Because, as I said, it was surprisingly nice!
This time - Chicken Karaage Curry Rice (RM 12)
He said he prefered the seafood one better though~ CAUSE HE MALAS BITE CHICKEN /.\
But it still tasted rather good!

Earl Grey (RM 4.80)

Dessert time!
Chocolate Strawberry (RM 8) and Tiramisu (RM 7.50)
Sad to say but Shakespeare does great pastries, great meals but horrible desserts!!!
Wasn't expensive but boyy, it didn't taste nice. I would expect this kind of standards from some cheap bakeries. DISAPPOINTMENT xx

El Fresco @ Jaya Grocer, Empire Shopping Gallery

One of our usual dinner place too.

El Fresco is a diner inside Jaya Grocer in Empire Shopping Gallery.
It's quite different as you get to pick your ingredients (i.e. prawns, salmon, beef, cod fish etc) from the grocer then let the kitchen cook them with a choice of pasta/salad as your side dish for RM 6.

They have an open kitchen concept so
you can see how to bake their pizza and all :)

Iced Chocolate (RM 8.90)

Mushroom Soup (RM 8)

Beef Pepperoni (RM 19)

Margherita Pizza (RM 16)
Very cheesy! :)

This is actually just Margherita but we decorated it with prawns from our pasta, just for fun.
You can buy prawns from the grocer and let the kitchen cook it with pasta/salad :D

Pizza Con Tonno (RM 19)
Margherita, onions, tuna and chili flakes! YUMMS!

If your choice of dish is less than RM 20, then there would be a charge of RM 4.
That's why we normally choose a slab of salmon or prawns around the price of RM 20 and then add on RM 6 for the pasta :)

One of my usuals : Fusilli Matriciana (RM 19)
spicy creamy tomato based pasta with beef bacon.

Carbonara! Super creamy fettucine with mushroom and beef bacons!
Tze best comfort food you can find! Comes w breadstick! Teehee xx

A simple yet yummy Penne Arabiata (RM 16)
